Concrete Objects
I'm drawn to the heavy feel of concrete and its durability. I like that work can be for indoors or out and that the weathering of time adds to its beauty. The pieces here are a collection created in the middle of winter 2019 when I set up an indoor studio. Concrete is not very sculptural-friendly; much like working with cold mud yet once the material begins to set it's possible to shape pieces that can also be carved and chiselled. The objects below represent some smaller pieces. I continue to work in concrete though mostly in summer with an interest in birds, garden troughs and water bowls.
